UPCYCLING

WE FEEL IT IS ABSURD TO PRECISE THIS IN 2023, BUT IF THERE IS ANY DOUBT OF COURSE IN EVERY THING WE DO, WE DO IT RESPONSIBLY.

Yes, we upcycle. But what does that mean? Here’s the definition: «The practice of converting waste materials into products of greater value.»

For us, it involves transforming unused fabrics or clothing destined for destruction. By reusing them, we create something of greater value. Specifically, coats, jackets, and pants in our case.

Let’s be honest; we have two main reasons for doing this. Firstly, when at start, you don’t know anything about fashion industry, and you find yourself a bit of a boomer (meaning you’re not good at using the internet), exploring, touching, feeling materials, and engaging in conversations with professionals about what they have, are excellent ways to learn.

Secondly, we believe in producing almost unique and variable pieces.

The unpredictability of available materials adds a storytelling element. We find fabrics during our spare time, guided by feelings, momentary inspirations, and the brand’s vision. While it may vary, there’s always a consistent desire to create the best material combinations for you. So, when you come across a piece you love, firstly, thank you it means a lot. Secondly, consider purchasing it because you might never find exactly the same piece again.

Thirdly, of course we’re also doing it for ecological and responsible reason for our planet. Also, because it started as a «project» filled with love and effort. Why buying new materials to produce when there are so many left in warehouses or destined never to be used?

As we expand, we will maintain our current approach exploring warehouses, repurposing unused materials from other brands, and utilizing excess stock from productions.

However, for select capsule collections, we will permit ourselves to use specific fabrics that we will produce to meet our precise expectations, but in small quantities. This is an integral part of the narrative we are crafting and the experience we are cultivating. We believe in environmental consciousness while simultaneously creating new fabrics tailored to our needs; the key is to avoid any excess.

MADE IN FRANCE

WE’RE MADE IN FRANCE, BUT WE BELIEVE MADE IN EUROPE WORKS TOO, THE ALL POINT IS TO BE RESPONSIBLE ABOUT THE WAY WE DO IT.

Our commitment to being authentically French is so strong that Tristan even has a «made in France» tattoo on his ankle, a decision he made a long time ago. We engage in upcycling using fabrics carefully selected in France, and our workshops are located in the outskirts of Paris.

Choosing to start with «made in France» aligns seamlessly with our values. Let’s be frank; embarking on something new in an industry you’re unfamiliar with is much more

manageable when you can connect with people that are around you.

This approach enables us to educate ourselves and collaborate with individuals who understand the industry, allowing us to learn from them.

That being said, our ultimate goal is to produce high-quality, enduring garments that stand the test of time. We aim to create clothing that we cherish and can be passed down through generations an embodiment of timeless craftsmanship.

While France gets a rich history of well- manufactured products, we also believe in the potential of Europe. In the upcoming chapters of our story, we may extend our exploration and discover new workshops in places like Portugal or elsewhere. We’ll keep you posted.

OUR CREATION

WE CREATED OUR COLLECTION WITH INSPIRATIONS AND THE RIGHT FRIENDS TO HELP US

It’s the same old story; just a year ago, we were completely clueless about this. So, if you ever feel the urge to start your own brand, take the leap—you’ll manage to create something meaningful.

Our stroke of luck came from our circle of friends and family. We began with Jeanne, a friend who works as a costume designer for movies, including those by Wes Anderson. Our cousin, Alexis, eager to dive into the fashion industry, knew more than we did initially.

As we realized that designing clothes is a distinct profession, Jeanne introduced us to Gregoire.

Gregoire runs his own 3D modeling company, hailing from the same region as Tristan. We instantly connected with him and decided to continue our journey together. His expertise, combined with our motivations, rudimentary sketches, and inspirations, led to the co-creation of what you see now.

Our inspiration comes from a mix of images and photographs, blending elements from pre-Mao China with our individual cultures and beloved brands. The synergy of the right individuals, our cultural values, and inspirations resulted in this first collection that we are all genuinely proud of.
