We visited this house for the first time in 2019, four years ago. When we talk about it today, we think it might have been the beginning of the Maa Project.

It felt like a dream; we envisioned ourselves in this house immediately and never changed our minds. During the pandemic and beyond, we spent time convincing the previous owners to sell us the house. They weren’t very keen at first, and we understand why—the place is amazing, quiet, with a tremendous view of the bay.

They had spent 45 years of their lives there, and understandably, it was hard for them to leave. We had the opportunity to spend time with them, and even though we were eager for it to be ours, we enjoyed the journey and the encounter.

Now it is Maison Maa, an extension of The Maa Project, a place to enjoy a physical experience on the land of Tristan’s origins. Who could believe that Jenny, from Lyon and originally from Fujian, would fall in love with both the man and his native region? Picardie and La Somme might not be the most well-known places to visit, but we believe it's because people haven’t discovered this little oasis yet.
